Oversized Christmas

This year for my family Christmas card I made some giant ornaments out of beach balls. Maybe it is too personal to post a picture of my entire family, but the ornaments looked pretty awesome in my parent's giant pine trees and my niece's face is too cute not to share.

Then I tried to fill my house with oversized paper Christmas decorations.

Which lead to an oversized Christmas themed party with giant marshmallows, giant candy canes, and sweatshirts big enough for two. Needless to say, I've had a pretty fun holiday season so far.

Best wishes to you and yours.

Snow Day

The snow used to be awesome when I was little - thrilling even. But now I just use it as a great excuse to avoid leaving the house.  SO, since we're dealing with a crazy snowstorm today I am recommending to everyone that they just sit down, get some snacks and write that card you've been meaning to send...or (what I will undoubtedly do) get cozy and watch netflix. If you need recommendations I've got plenty (especially if you love teen dramas.)

This photo (the first not taken from my iPhone!) was taken by the best photographer in the whole world- Jessica Peterson. Check out her website and blog. She is incredible.

From the Workshop of Santa Claus printable

During our family Christmas party I overheard my 6-year old cousin asking Santa if he had received his letter. It was adorable. Obviously it is important to have some Santa letterhead to respond to the letters of innocent children. Or to remind children who may have been reading too much Calvin and Hobbes not to ask for loot, but to remember the real meaning of Christmas (am I the only one that needed that letter?). Christmas Countdown

I love Christmas more than any other holiday, but at my house I was a little less than on top of Christmas decorations this year. I have a wreath, but I don't even have my Christmas tree yet...whoops! (I'll get that tomorrow) And honestly, this post is even going up late in the day! SORRY! So if you're running a little behind this Christmas like me hopefully a 12 days of Christmas countdown will be helpful for you too. Displaying this Christmas countdown is exactly what I need to get some cheer in my house and get excited (and motivated) for all of the things I still need to do for the holiday season!

(I used a clipboard as an easy display in my entryway, but you could use a nail and a binder clip just as easily)

HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE | FOR MOM

Shopping for mom is the best, isn't it? That wasn't really a question. It is undoubtedly the best. But maybe you have a hard time shopping for your mom. If you do, I've rounded up some great gifts to spark your imagination.

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6

I know there are a lot of sites out there where you can make pretty things with instagram photos, but Artifact Uprising wins! You can make the most beautiful books, calendars, postcards and prints. (I never knew I couldn't live without a wooden clipboard calendar. But I can't. And now I know. If you want mom to cry, go to there.) Pretty scarves, always good. Beautiful books, always great. See's Molasses Chips are a stocking staple in my family. Mo chips, less problems. And what mom wouldn't want a giant cedar letter on her porch? Okay, maybe I wanted that one...

Gift Guide for Kids

I have an active, creative toddler who loves his playtime like nobody's business. I've been dying to get him some of these gorgeous toys, and Christmas might be the perfect excuse!

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6
I can see my son spending hours with this Cubebot. He loves solving puzzles and making toys run, dance and talk. The Early Rider and tumbling crocodile are SO CUTE, and are great ways to encourage the expulsion of energy. My son's newest obsession is painting and drawing, so I try to find news way to help him create. The Kid Robot DIY toy and the Wee Gallery activity books can spark his imagination, and the chalkboard easel gives him a constant base for creative release.

It's always such a fun guessing game to see what toys and activities kids will latch onto next, and I can't wait to see what my little guy thinks of his presents this Christmas. I wish I could buy them all! Shopping for kids is THE BEST.

LET IT SNOW

It's been a busy week going from Thanksgiving and getting ready for Beehive Bazaar. In the midst of all of the craziness a snow storm came through and took us out of fall weather and brought us into winter. It's definitely beginning to look a lot like Christmas over here.

(Right now we're working on gift guides and printables...you know, our gift to you ;). Tis the Season right? So get ready!)

Beehive Bazaar

We're so happy to be a part of Beehive Bazaar this week! Our booth will be up Thursday through Saturday. We'll be selling gift tags, notebooks, stationery, cards, calendars and prints.
